You used vorpx correct? Really want to try this, but don't want to spend the 40 bucks on vorpx. I'm currently using the bog standard Steam 4.13.4 version, but will be adding BAT soon. I've spent the last 2 days going through my vast collection of custom missions and campaigns downloaded from numerous sites years ago and installing them to fly in VR. It is very awesome - so well worth doing. Also I can find anyway to add it to the VD games menu. I tried several thing like running Revive and Steam but no luck. It runs fine over link but in VD it gives up not finding a headset. I often find that when the game starts - and sometimes briefly at other times, the UI is only visible in the left eye. Has anyone had any luck running vorpX over Virtual Desktop VorpX is a 2D to VR converter. I did initial testing with my desktop res of 1920x1080, which works - but is too zoomed-in, so the larger res is needed. I initially edited the config ini and set the res in that - which worked, but the res is also there to choose in the video options in game, so it's not really necessary, once you have created the custom resolution. I found that if I switched the Intro track off, the game wouldn't start. This makes the game UI appear and I can continue. Just click the right arrow and go all the way round until it's back at the Full VR (I think that's what it was - I'll check) setting it started on. All I had to do was bring up the VorpX menu and change the 3D process. I always find that after the intro track, the game freezes at the final frame, though you can still hear the music etc. No need to use the LibOVRWrapper these days - Opentrack has no issues with the current Oculus version. I used the res Libory recommended (1600x1800) and it works just great. I got this working a few days ago - awesome, sitting in my Seafire on deck. I heared it's a big problem that when you shoot, the whole screen (=whole world in VR) is shaking which makes it a neauseating and bad experience.can you confirm? Also it won't run with Pal's Visuals Mod. If you wan't to set a custom resolution, you'll need to set it in Nvidia Control Panel first, otherwise the game won't run. Also, I didn't mess with the config file. I didn't follow his instructions, just used current Home version without any wrappers and it worked fine with OpenTrack. Before launching the game, you need to import a profile for IL2 1946. That way you'll have opentrack tracking only. When you start the game, just set headtracking to 0 in VorpX in order to disable it. You would need VorpX and OpenTrack, since tracking in VorpX doesn't work well. But if you desperately want to fly Hurricanes, G.50s, Zero's, Gladiators, etc in VR - that's the way to do it. It's a paid software, and it's not cheap. Remember, the game itself was not designed with the VR support in mind.Īnd it's an absolute blast! It's still pretty impressive even after BoX, although the immersion is a bit less. So if any of you craves for all those planes we currently don't have in BoX - try 1946 in VR! I've ran BAT and VP and they look pretty good! When they are displayed closer than they appear. There are known problems with displaying clouds, smokes, tracers ets. UPDATE\WARNING: Please note that although you can run this game in your VR headset, it won't be the same experience that you have in BOX. ![]()
